This gene is a member of the Ig superfamily and encodes a cell surface sialoglycoprotein expressed by cytokine-activated endothelium. This type I membrane protein mediates leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion and signal transduction, and may play a role in the development of artherosclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis. Flow cytometry:1X10^6 293T(Transfection) cells were surface-stained with ABflo® 647 Rabbit IgG isotype control (A22070, 5 μl/Test, left) or ABflo® 647 Rabbit anti-Human VCAM-1/CD106 mAb(A23398, 5 μl/Test, right).
